Presto Studios was a computer game development company of the late 1990s, especially famous for its The Journeyman Project series. As successor to the Myst dynasty, Presto Studios was entrusted with the challenge of continuing the legacy created by Cyan. Other games by Presto included the Star Trek game Star Trek: Hidden Evil.
In August of 2002 the company was shut down simply because of changes in the video games industry causing titles to be too expensive to develop. Employees disbanded and were offered severance packages as well as assistance in finding new jobs.
The company's website now only consists of a single page that states, "...the digital magicians at Presto have moved on to explore new opportunities."
